Point92 is a new mould, we are investing quality time to develop this project in terms of its iconic functionality as well as its premium as an office development. The building is located very prominently in a prime area in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. The external wall elements are made from marine ply, glass and modular cement boards sealed within a black steel framed window structure. The anticipated target gross floor area is around 140 000 sq.ft.

Point 92 is aptly named after the land area due to the very tight site, which is just under an acre. The client sought out to do an iconic building to draw investments into their real estate. The project is located right across from an elevated road and looks out from a cliff into a residential precinct.

Point 92 is about blurring the territory between residence and office environment. the volumetric shapes carved from inside the shape of the building gives variation both in terms of spatial organisation internally as well as aspects of views out from within. Each compartmented space has its own unique features, internal bridges, voids and double height ceilings etc compound into a complex but integrated whole.

The arrival experience is one of walking through a body of water filled with lemon grass and weedy plants, linking the drop off point to lift lobbies that rise directly into the offices. The underside of the structure is simply a white reflective surface that pick out water movements from the landscaped pools and so forth. at night we contemplate the options to light up this undercroft space or soffit to give the surreal feeling of a floating box. The facade is compose dof 50 % glazing and the rest is of wooden panels or cement boards. the checkered and patterned facade allows for deep daylight penetration into the building plan. The block is supported off a minimum number of columns to express a generous and unobtrusive views of the landscape beyond. The podium structure consisting mainly of car parks will be greened on the edges to resolve the connection of this building to the ground.

astro broadcasting studios

Image of Astro new look office, designed to promote Astro’s philosophy of work, of solidarity, symbolic in the way the facade shows two building materials coming together, one transparent, and the other more solid. A concept that drives the plan form as well as the section, two spaces meeting in the centre where the courtyard breaks into a garden, with many natural elements. The dark cement and the planar glazing on the facade locks into each other as a clasping hand, the interlocking floors give each level a view of the the next one either above or from below. A humane and completely intimate internal environment that encourages external awareness and a sense of connection to light and landscape.

kenny heights

One of the more exciting projects in recent months of 2007 has been this parcel wherein the built form appears somewhat carved out of the ground. A small incision on the roof suggests promising retail environment design for this new neighborhood, bringing daylight into what would have been a deep plan. The entire Kenny Heights masterplan boasts some 80 acres of developable land currently valued at over USD 3 billion.

Bluesome Wall

The Blue corridor is one theme used to give Digi Telecommunications HQ its cutting edge design, of some 24 ambiently dynamic informal areas. This feature was really never accepted into the Project at this time, we expect the design will find its palce elsewhere in our many other design pursuits.

Beijing Showroom

Showroom and Offices for a Chinese lighting company based in Beijing. Mirrored wall and red coloured wooden walls give this entrance courtyard a unique identity. The mirrored finish stainless steel canopy marks entrance to gallery inside this 70-year old building.

DiGi Break Out Spaces

One of twenty rooms and spaces designed for breakout areas for staff at Digi Telecommunications Offices and HQ in Malaysia. Boutique office space for some 1200 workers with a twist. Completed June 2006.

Hotel Capitol

Capitol Hotel is one of ZLG's very early projects [1994], designed for 260 business class hotel suites, with a completely "no-frills" interior concept. The Hotel has seen 70% occupancy from day one. Located in the central district of Kuala Lumpur, and built under 24 months of design and documentation. Today it remains one of KL's most popular hotel, presenting itself as a simple modern and minimalist building, promising an evergreen style totally devoid of any decoration or embellishment of mainstream designs for this building type. It remains as one of ZLG's most successful project.
